Have there been times when you have wondered what God is doing? Sometimes we don’t understand how God works, but maybe God has a bigger thing going on! Our Fall Sharathon is just around the corner, and we are looking forward to seeing what God has in store for this event and for the future of Mountain Gospel Radio!
WMTC was founded as a Christian work and remains that to this day. This is the purpose of WMTC Mountain Gospel radio.
Now that WMTC was established, there were questions about what programs would be aired.
Even though money was being donated to build a radio station, this did not solve all of the problems with establishing WMTC.

Wilfred Fisher
WMTC Mountain Gospel Radio was founded in 1948 as part of the Kentucky Mountain Holiness Association, but how was WMTC established? Whose idea was it to start a Christian radio station in the hills of Eastern Kentucky? This is the history of WMTC from the perspective of its founding manager Dr. Wilfred Fisher.
After graduating from Asbury seminary in 1939, Dr. Fisher and his wife Alice came to Kentucky Mountain Bible Institute where they were invited to come teach.
Our Mountain Gospel Spring Sharathon is soon approaching! The theme is “God Still Answers Prayer,” and how true that is!
We were very blessed to have a work team from West Michigan come and complete several projects at the studio.
